Sustainability at Salming
At Salming Sports, we strive to combine functionality, quality, and sustainability in our products. Sustainability is a journey, and we are aware of the challenges – but we are committed to taking responsibility and contributing where we can. Our production primarily takes place in China, Vietnam, and Portugal, where we work with carefully selected suppliers. All new suppliers commit to following our Code of Conduct, which includes guidelines on working conditions, human rights, safety, and environmental responsibility. We are members of amfori BSCI, ensuring regular independent audits to verify compliance with these standards. Additionally, our suppliers sign our chemical contract, and we conduct our own tests to ensure our products meet our high standards. We actively work on selecting materials with a reduced environmental impact. Our underwear is currently produced using OEKO-TEX-certified materials, and we are exploring new options, such as bamboo from FSC-certified forests, for future productions. This is part of our long-term effort to identify more sustainable material choices. Another important part of our sustainability work is reducing the use of plastic in our packaging. We are reviewing our packaging solutions to use as little plastic as possible while still protecting the products during transport and handling. Transparency and accountability are key principles for us. As we do not own our factories, we focus on building strong relationships with our suppliers and ensuring good working conditions. Through careful planning and continuous quality testing, we work to ensure that production is carried out as responsibly as possible. We view sustainability as an ongoing area of development and are committed to finding solutions that make a real difference. Our goal is for every step we take to contribute to a more sustainable future – for us, our customers, and future generations.
